The Innovation Discipline: The Inside Out

Why does real innovation elude so many companies, both for-profits and nonprofits? Because the focus is at the macro level exclusively: assets, processes, and outputs. Instead, organizations need a more holistic focus that includes inspiring its people to unleash inspiration at the individual micro level.

This workshop helps participants engage, reflect, and collaborate as they learn how to drive innovation throughout the organization -- from the inside out.

Andy Stefanovich, Author of
Look at More, details his 5M discipline to innovation. A discipline that addresses the macro level innovation mood of the organization, and the micro level creative mindset of the people within the organization.

Through provocative anecdotes and road tested case studies with Fortune 50 companies, Andy shares how the 5Ms can act as a diagnostic tool and road map for changing individuals, empowering teams, and transforming organizations. A discipline that goes beyond a quick burst of excitement to sustain innovation - organizationally, culturally, and personally.

Andy will:

  • Illustrate, through engaging client success stories, how expanding your company’s innovation focus to include your people helps drive bottom line growth and internal engagement;

  • Detail the 5Ms and how to create the organizational mood for innovation and leverage the individual mindset for innovation;
    Mood is the organization context for innovation
    Mindset is the individual capacity for innovation
    Mechanisms are the tools, processes, and approaches to facilitate innovation
    Measurements are the traditional and non-traditional metrics for innovation
    Momentum is the active championing of innovation for long term sustainability

  • Teach you how to harness inspiration by thinking differently yourself and creating an organizational culture that encourages others to do the same.

DANA is proud to welcome Keynote Speaker Andy Stefanovich to Delaware!

Andy Stefanovich has earned a reputation as one of the most disruptive and effective advisors in business.

Read children’s books to become a better leader. Turn every space you inhabit into a museum exhibit filled with inspiration, thereby enhancing your business and your life. Create time and space away from the office in order to improve your performance at work. These are only a few of the innovative and unconventional tools that Andy Stefanovich uses while coaching executives and their teams.

By curating experiences that inspire through direct, indirect, and tangential ways, executives can see their business through new lenses, reframed to garner improved outcomes that are critical for growth.

An entrepreneur at heart, Andy founded the creative consultant agency, Play, in 1990 and merged with Prophet in 2008. Additionally, he is an executive coach and strategist for the leadership of companies such as Gap, Disney, GE, Bass Pro, Equifax, and Hilton. Andy’s first book, Look at More: A Proven Approach to Innovation, Growth and Change, was a bestseller and planning for the next book is underway. Andy is a keynote speaker for the Washington Speakers Bureau, and is involved with TED Talks, New Richmond Ventures, and Plan G.

Andy’s leadership of the annual TEDxRVA forum and involvement with many local businesses, speaks to his role as community advocate for his adopted hometown of Richmond, Virginia where he lives with his wife, Jill and identical twin daughters, Grace and Lotti.

Our sister state organization - Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA) - welcomed Andy to their Annual Conference this past fall. To quote MNA, "His ratings were over the top!" Here's what Montana nonprofits had to say about Andy:

"Andy is just a rock star for inspiration and content."

"So much of what [Andy] said resonated - He was the best speaker I have seen to-date."

"Although there were a lot of great takeaways, the one that I will use most is the idea of fostering creativity and humor in the workplace and in the materials you put out. I believe that, fused with the idea of an intentional distraction, is imperative to my work, as well as work in the nonprofit sector in general."

"It was a nice, uplifting keynote for the beginning of the conference. 'The world needs more of who you are' was what resonated for me."
