The Center for Creative Leadership research shows "everyone who succeeds has a mentor."  This workshop will explore the elements of effective mentoring using The Critical 4 model: Thinking, Behaviors, Relationships and Leading Others.  Participants will learn various approaches for mentoring. The strong relationship between effective mentoring and Emotional Intelligence will be discussed.  The role of mentors in preventing "career derailment" will be reviewed based on global studies. Participants will complete a basic diagnostic of a current employee and use the results to create a preliminary mentoring plan.

Instructor: Dick Haviland
Dick Haviland brings both experience and a personal passion to his work with non-profit organizations leadership teams and their boards. In addition to over thirty years of experience as a manager and senior executive working globally he has worked for non-profits and served on the boards of Special Olympics and other service organizations. He is certified by The Center for Creative Leadership as a coach and is also a registered International Organizational Development Consultant having worked in the UK, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
