Did you know that over 44 percent of all adults in the U.S. volunteer their time to a nonprofit organization? Every year these volunteers provide the equivalent of 9 million staff positions valued at over $239 Billion.

Here in Delaware, you can “Get Involved” in a variety of ways.
Find Volunteer Opportunities online by going to www.volunteerway.org. Sort by keywords or by city and state. The site lists hundreds of opportunities for Delaware.
Call the State Office of Volunteerism at 302-255-9896 to connect with opportunities.

Specializes in international volunteer openings, but has a wealth of opportunities in the U.S.

Impact Online
Site includes listings of short-term and remote (online) volunteer opportunities, and advice for volunteers.

Points of Light Foundation
Helps engage people in solving serious social problems.

Seva Foundation
Seva means "compassionate action" in Sanskrit. When you give a gift of service, the foundation sends a handsome card to the recipient that describes the work you've chosen to support.

SERVEnet
This site allows nonprofit groups to post volunteer opportunities. It also includes facts and tips about volunteering, a calendar of meetings about public service, and offers online discussions about volunteering.

Every week, members of DANA are looking for dedicated board members to lead their organizations. Membership on a board of directors provides the participant with leadership opportunities while offering them a chance to use their skills. Potential board members should select organizations with missions that are directed related to their interests.

DANA has a board matching program to connect will helpers with organizations seeking new leaders. If you would like to explore board opportunities, please click here to download the Board Application form. After you submit the application, DANA staff will contact you to discuss current opportunities. Board membership is an ideal way to engage in meaningful opportunities while building the capacity of our local nonprofit organizations. Together, we can build a better Delaware.

DANA can help you find qualified board members who have a passion for your mission. Through our Leadership Delaware Program (Click here) we provide a variety of board training programs throughout the state. Graduates of these programs have an in depth knowledge of and skills in board governance, legal responsibilities, fiscal oversight, fund raising, and much more. To apply for a board member, please download this form and return it with the required information. Priority is given to DANA members.
