DANA will hold it’s 2017 Annual Conference “IMPACT” Delaware on May 15, 2017 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington.  The emphasis is on how nonprofits can identify and align their outcomes to support priority initiatives in the State of Delaware.  This year’s conference will feature Keynote Speaker, Governor John Carney who will speak to State priorities and how community based organizations can work together to help him achieve those goals. Noted author, David Grant, author of “The Social Profit Handbook” will offer a brief commentary on the power of nonprofits aligning their work leverage our divergent initiatives together.                                                                                                                                                                  

Morning Activities engage participants to identify common outcomes they can collectively strive towards to achieving the these themes: Workforce Development, Economic Development, Healthy Communities, and Education.  

Afternoon Workshops include facilitated discussions on the following subjects: Qualitative Methods to Measure Impactful Outcomes (David Grant), Defining what Matters: Using Market Indicators to inform Outcome Focus (Delaware Community Foundation), Collective Impact:  From Idea to Action (United Way of Delaware) and "Tracking and Communicating Your Nonprofit's Impact" (Tech Impact).  

The afternoon culminates with a Networking Reception, an opportunity for nonprofit leaders to meet Conference sponsors, DANA Alliance partners and Board Members in a casual “happy hour” atmosphere.    

The DANA 2017 Annual Conference will be held at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington on Monday, May 15, 2017.

About Governor John Carney

Governor John Carney – John will share his vision of State priorities and the partnership with the Social Sector. Born in Wilmington and raised in Claymont, Governor John Carney has been working for the Delaware people for more than 30 years. From 2011 to 2017, John served as Delaware’s lone member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to his time in Congress, John served two terms as Delaware’s Lieutenant Governor. John also served as Chairman of the Delaware Healthcare Commission, the Criminal Justice Council, and the Delaware Science & Technology Council. Under then-Governor Tom Carper, John served as Delaware’s Secretary of Finance and Deputy Chief of Staff. Before that, he was Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for New Castle County, and on the staff of then-Senator Joe Biden.
