Charles A. Madden is the Executive Director of the Wilmington HOPE Commission.  He is responsible for working with municipal, private, nonprofit, academia and the legislature to develop solutions to reduce violence and improve the quality of life for Wilmington’s underserved communities. He was responsible for raising over $1.5 million dollars toward the construction of the Achievement Center, Delaware’s first and only One-Stop Reentry Center targeting high risk formerly incarcerated men and their families. Charles has 20 years of management positions across the military, corporate, legal and academic sectors.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and a Juris Doctorate.  He currently serves on the Boards of the American Civil Liberties Union, Teach for America, DANA and Prestige Academy Charter School.  Charles and his wife Eboni are the proud parents of two children.
