[This] program was a transformative experience for Connecting Generations. Starting with the “brutal facts,” our board and staff worked through many difficult questions that challenged long-held assumptions. What are we “best at”? How strong is our “resource engine”? The answers weren’t always easy to find or accept. But through an iterative process of asking difficult questions and demanding honest answers, this program gave us both a vocabulary and a framework to discover our strengths and identify a realistic path forward. It was one of the best strategic planning processes I’ve been through. I highly recommend it.
It was through [this] strategic planning process that Reading Assist Institute recognized and defined its strengths, its “hedgehog.” As the board and staff worked together within our clarified passion, we came to understand that by focusing and improving on what we do best, we would not only produce long term meaningful impact but would also build a brand that would attract the resources we need to continuously improve in order to create long term impact…..and so on it goes.
