Delaware Nonprofit Advocacy Day June 8, 2017

Thank you for registering to be part of Delaware Nonprofit Advocacy Day. This is our chance as nonprofits to demonstrate our collective impact to legislators and government officials and advocate for the nonprofit sector, your organization, and the people you serve.  DANA’s program starts promptly at 11 am on the East Steps of Legislative Hall and ends with a presentation on Advocacy Strategies.  This is your day to promote the community’s need and how your organization supports that need.   Below is information to assist you in your plans.

Location: Legislative Hall
410 Legislative Ave. Dover, DE 19901

Parking is located at the Delaware Federal Credit Union and Delaware Public Archives lots. Additional parking is located in the Dover Municipal Parking Lot, located on Water Street between State Street and Governor’s Avenue. There is also a parking lot located on the corner of William Penn and Water Street. Make sure not to park in Permit Only or 1 Hour Parking spaces. (Parking Map)

What to Expect:

The Rally on the East Steps of Legislative Hall will begin promptly at 11AM.

Announcements will be made at the Rally for any changes for the day.

  • Following the Rally, those registered may grab a boxed lunch from Modern Maturity, who will be parked by the East Steps.  The room in the Tatnall Building seats around 50 people.  We ask those who are not planning to stay for the advocacy presentations to consider eating lunch at a different location (outside or there is a cafeteria in the basement of Leg Hall). Restrooms are located in Legislative Hall and the Tatnall Building.
  • Presentations on Effective Advocacy Strategy begin at 12:00 PM in the Tatnall Building, a second session will begin at 12:30PM. If the group is too large we will hold the session on the East Steps of Legislative Hall at noon.
  • At 1pm you have an opportunity to meet with legislators. (Schedule meetings in advance). Remember to bring your photo ID to get through security at Legislative Hall.
