Mark A. Turner, 51, has been President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of WSFS Financial Corporation and WSFS Bank since 2007. Mr. Turner was previously both the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of WSFS. Prior to joining WSFS in 1996, his other experience included working at CoreStates Bank, Meridian Bancorp and at the international professional services firm of KPMG, LLP.
Mr. Turner received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, his Masters Degree in Executive Leadership from the University of Nebraska, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Management from LaSalle University. Among other executive programs, Mr. Turner has studied at National Training Labs, The Soderquist Leadership Institute, The Aspen Institute, Gallup University, Toyota University, Authentic Leadership Institute, Academy Leadership, The Center for Creative Leadership, and The Buckley School for Public Speaking. He has also observed global business practices in Argentina and China.
Mr. Turner is privileged to be working for a Company that has been named by an independent survey as a “Top Workplace” in Delaware for the last 8 years, with special recognitions for the Company’s leadership and ethics the last 5 years, and the “Top Bank” in Delaware the last 3 years.
As a local business person, Mr. Turner is also an active leader in business, civic and community activities. Among these activities, he has served as: Chairman of the Board of the Delaware Business Roundtable; Chairman of the Board of the Delaware Bankers Association; member of Executive Committee of the Board of the Delaware State
Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Delaware Chapter of the March of Dimes; member of Delaware State University (DSU) Board of Trustees; the Board of Directors of the Delaware Alliance for Non-Profit Advancement (DANA); Honorary Commander, Delaware National Guard; and a senior fundraiser for, among other groups, the Wilmington Grand Opera House and the Boys and Girls Clubs of DE. Mark has also served as a HOSTS mentor to inner-city youth.
Mark is a lifelong native of the Delaware Valley area. He is married to Regina, VMD, PhD, and they have two daughters, Becky, 13, and Katie, 10.
